Patterns of Health Services Utilization During Pregnancy, Delivery, and Postpartum Period: Evidence from Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey

Utilization of health services is a multidimensional behavioural phenomenon, particularly when it comes to pregnancy and delivery concerns. The importance maternal care in reducing mortality morbidity has received significant recognition. Most the deaths can be prevented if women have access basic antenatal, postnatal care. However, uptake very low even areas where they are extensively available. aim this study assess pattern identify underlying factors on utilization Pakistan. Data taken from Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey (PMMS) 2019. Logistic regression was performed adjusted odd ratios were calculated by using three dependent variables – Ideal Antenatal Care (IANC), birth assisted Skilled Birth Attendant (SBA), Postnatal (PNC). Impact biological socio-demographic computed, findings revealed that with increase age, education household wealth, more likely better opportunities use ANC, SBA PNC. focus policy considerations should provision high-quality as well educating about value receiving such during postpartum period through awareness campaigns. Moreover, skilled staff voluntary workers recruited make future agendas successful.
